Installation went smoothly with one exception. For some reason, the holes in the metal plate that mounts to the mirror on the right side would not line up to clear the screw heads on all three screws at the same time. Fortunately, the metal is quite soft and I was able to ream one of the holes out using a small round bastard while the metal plate was locked in a shop vise. I picked the lower front to ream out. It was only off by maybe .004 inch but it was enough to keep the plate from seating tightly to the magnet. I know this because before I reamed it out the mirror broke loose when I hit a Rail Road Crossing. Yes, I had made a lanyard to hold the mirror just in case of the mirror coming off on a bump. And yes I could have picked any of the three to ream out. I could always get 2 to seat tightly but never all three and just on the right side so there's no telling what was out of proper alignment on my spyder.
