I was very excited to install these shocks on MY20 RT and start testing them along with the ULTRA SWAY BAR that I have already had on, for over 25,000 miles. Now with over 10,000 miles with both shocks and ultra bar they were a welcome improvement over the other popular performance shocks, "LIKE NIGHT & DAY" right out of the box and yes, I had them set at a higher rate and they were totally awesome! I hesitate saying they were like putting my Spyder on rails however the harder I pushed them the better they made the already great tires (Kenda Kanines) stick so well this old PRO road racer felt like no matter what I did in a corner they made the tires grip to the MAXIMUM creating a confidence I never had before.
I'm not advocating everyone pushing your Spyder like I do however when I was able to stop and dial down the rebound in under 5 minutes with the easy accessible hand twist collar it was easy to go to a very comfortable ride to cruise along and enjoy the scenery. Riding 2-up creates a new meaning when you can dial in the shocks to get a comfortable ride your passenger will enjoy with the ULTRA BAR in tandem.
I highly recommend these shocks for all types of Spyder rider no matter how you ride, it will be a great improvement!
